Weekly Recap: February Week 2

This was an odd workout week for me. I worked really hard last week, and my body was just exhausted this week. I felt in a funk the whole week, so i did what i could (don’t want to push and get injured right before Princess) and decided to listen to the cues my body was giving me. My joints were achy, my allergies were acting up, etc.

KT Tape to the rescue!

Sometimes we all just need an extra couple days of rest right? I’m tapering anyway, so I’m sure I will be fine. Using the free time to check out fitness tips on this site and drinking lots of organic tea. I plan to run 6 today or tomorrow, then 3, then I am done before the Princess half marathon! (well, except for the Princess 5k!)

Yesterday Bobby and I celebrated a belated Valentine’s Day. We don’t usually go out to eat on actual Valentine’s Day because it’s so busy, and Bobby knows I would kill him if he bought me triple the price roses for a made up holiday, so we celebrated last night by going to our favorite restaurant, Half Shell Oyster House.

I know what you mean about feeling achey. I’ve been feeling similarly lately. I’m glad that you are taking cues from your body and giving it a little extra rest. Sounds like you had a great dinner out and can’t wait to hear about the Princess Half!

I love your outfit! And those oysters look SO good-I’m so envious :) That is one of my favorite restaurants too. I’ve been in a funk this week too, having a hard time pushing the activity. Hope next week is better for us both.

I went to a crepe place we just had always talked about going to! Nothing too special. But it’s all what you make it, you know? :) I hope your body bounces back this week so you’re ready to go next weekend! You know I’m looking forward to the recap!

Must be the week in general. I did 4 yesterday, and they didn’t come easy. I felt OK, but I wasn’t focused mentally.

We didn’t do anything special for Valentine’s Day. It was just another work day. We did exchange gifts before the hubs went to work.

    Ali says:

We didn’t do anything on Valentine’s Day because we both had to work Friday, but last night we tried out a new steakhouse that was really good!

My husband and I skip Valentine’s Day completely. We don’t do cards, dinner etc. We will do something nice later in the month for our anniversary on the 24th. We did order take-out sushi since facebook friends kept posting about yummy dinners and I was craving something yummy.

    Good luck on Princess!

hubs took me to a restaurant we hadn’t been to since we were dating and where we spend a beach day together a few years ago! Hope to run into you next weekend!

You inspired me to go out and buy some KT tape, which I’m going to be trying out today on my long run. It looks like you had a great time on your belated Valentine’s date. I kinda did something similar with my fiance–we went out for a nice dinner last night. I don’t know if I’ll ever try to go out to a restaurant on Valentine’s Day after having done it several times when I was younger. The crowds just aren’t worth it.

I’m a nurse and I work night shift so I was at work on Valentine’s night. I eat “lunch” around midnight. My husband and daughter tried to surprise me by bringing me take out from my Dave restaurant but it was too crowded. So instead, they had pizza (enough for my coworkers too) and drinks delivered right before midnight!! It was sweeter than flowers! I was so surprised!!

    Dawn says:

I had to laugh and read what you posted to my husband. I think I’m the only woman in the world who hates flowers. I think they are a waste of money and even worse and very cliche on a holiday. We just had a discussion about Valentine’s Day and how we prefer to celebrate it.

LOL I like flowers, but do think they are overpriced. I don’t mind getting them once a year or so, but def not on valentine’s day. At my old house we had 5 rose bushes of all beautiful colors in the back yard and hubby would get me roses all the time…for free!

You’re so smart to listen to your body and cut back. I’ve been doing a lot of backing off since the marathon, but finally felt good enough to pick up the miles this week! Glad you had a fun V-day! We went out on Friday night to celebrate- it was so nice!

My hubby and I celebrated Valentines day by hiking up Diamond Head Crater in Honolulu then grabbing lunch at Duke’s Waikiki and having dinner with my grandparents :)

Maybe I’ll run into you at Princess this weekend

We don’t go out out on the actual Valentine’s Day anymore either because the restaurants are always way too crowded. An hour wait in a crowded lobby with a bunch of strangers doesn’t exactly say romantic. I also told my husband not to buy roses on that day because they are so expensive and usually never look anywhere near as good as they normally would.
