Compression Socks Review

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has a great day! Tonight our Sunday school class at church is tailgating at the local High School Football game and it is doubling as a going away party for us. How fun! I will be sure to bring the camera.

On to the review!

Yesterday I wore my new Running Skirts compression socks on our 4 mile run. It was a little warmer out than expected so they made me hot quickly, but oh well!

BWAHAHA! I wore another one of my big racing shirts on purpose..and of course had to pair it with a pink skirt to match my pink socks and hat!!! In case you missed the shirt discussion, you can check it out  HERE.

So…my husband doesn’t like to count when he takes pictures, hence me having one eye open in this next one. Thanks, dear.

Let’s try that again!

So, it took me a few minutes to get these babies on. It would have been funny to videotape. Boy were they tight! (yes yes, I understand that’s the whole point but still!) It felt really weird at first when we started the run  but I got used to it. They actually felt really good on my legs! We only ran 4 miles so I didn’t really get to test them out long, and we had to shower right after so we could get to the fair so I didn’t wear them after my run as some do, But I definitely think they helped my legs to not feel as sluggish and heavy during my run. I am going to test them out again tomorrow when we do 14 miles (yikes!) and I will probably talk about them again.

Bryan likes to wear his compression socks after a hard run to help with recovery. I don’t think he actually runs in them though. May be an idea for post-half marathon.

I wore mine yesterday to the airport and they were so itchy. So I wore Jeffs home this morning and they were itchy too. I just hate tight stuff on my legs. They remind me of tights from my years as a dancer! I don’t know how you run in them!

Favorite thing about my compression socks? Hmmmm…I like everything about them! :) They are a bit of a struggle to put on though. ;)

I don’t have compression socks (yet) so I can’t comment on my favorite part, but I really want a pair!

I have a pair of compression socks I use for recovery only. I’ve never tried running with them on. Is there an added benefit?

this is what I have found:
The primary rationale behind wearing compression socks in a race is that they may enhance venous return to the heart through a more efficient calf muscle pump, leading to increased endurance capacity. And there is the notion that because muscles are kept more compact, balance and proprioception are improved and muscle fatigue is minimized.

So, would it be weird if I wore those things when I really don’t need them? You just look so sassy! No point intended. Good luck on your 14 miler!

I’ve never worn compression socks because I just started running and don’t go long distances. However, I’ve been seeing a lot of people wearing them lately.

I love my compression socks. They really do make my legs feel better. I’ve worn them during and after a long run. I have black ones but I want the pink ones now :)

    Best thing about compression socks?
They have been the single biggest factor in getting me through injuries and keeping me healthy! I love all things compression: socks, sleeves, tights. I would wear a body cast of compression if I could!

I love compression stuff! I feel great whenever I wear my calf sleeves, but I definitely think I’m going to invest in the full socks. Thanks for the review!

I’ve never tried any compression stuff, but I’ve been wanting to for awhile now. I keep hearing good reviews about them and I’m interested to see if it would make a difference in my running — especially since I have really tight calves and they get sore when I’m consistently doing long distances. I’m interested to see how they feel during your long run tomorrow!
